Women's History Month Special Lecture on Saturday, March 30 at 1PM

Remembering the Ladies, Abigail Adams and the role of women during the American Revolution.

Hailed for her now-famous admonition that the Founding Fathers "remember the ladies" in their new laws, Abigail Adams was not only an early advocate for women's rights, she was a vital confidant and advisor to her husband John Adams, the nation's second president. She opposed slavery and supported women's education.

Our presenter is Melanie Loper, a native Delawarean who was born in Dover, but was raised and currently resides in Wilmington. She is a graduate of Brandywine High School and the University of Delaware. She holds certificates from Delaware Technical and Community College and La Salle University. Her bachelor's is in Human Services. Melanie currently works in history and special education, where she must be knowledgeable in all core subjects. Melanie has always loved history and is looking forward to sharing fascinating, and often little-known facts about history.
